The bird looked like my neighbors birds.
Knowing that the birds wings were clipped, I found it awfully strange that it was outside, not 100 % sure if it was hers, I verified when I got home.
I went and rang her door bell, and the conversation went like this:
Neighbor: "Who is it?"
Me: "I'm your neighbor a few buildings over"
Neighbor: "What do you want?"
Me: "You have a bird right did you loose it?"
Neighbor: "What do you mean did I loose a bird??? *pauses*, Oh yeah, I guess I did. (Awfully strange that she doesn't remember this)
She comes to my apartment and I present her the bird. Then ask her how she lost it.
Neighbor: "What do you mean"
Me" We'll like did she fly out, was she gone when you got home etc?"
Neighbor " We'll there was the cat"
Me: " A cat chased your bird?"
Neighbor: "No , the cat, you know the cat?"
Me: "I'm sorry but I don't know"
Neighbor " You didn't see a cat?"
Neighbor " My cat has also been missing I thought they'd be together"
Me: " I'm sorry, I didn't see a cat"
Totally loopey. But she said she just got out the hospital so I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, but it seemed really strange to me that her clipped winged bird who lived three stories up made it to the parking lot unscathed flying outside, thats how she eventually told me she lost the bird, that she left her outside on the balcony then left her home, and she she come back was gone ( --__-- ) . I felt so reluntant to give this bird back.
By the way it's a cockatiel.
Last night, she rings my door bell again, saying she lost her bird again, and I tell her I hadn't seen her. Then she comes back, telling me she found the bird in our laundry room. Our laundry is closed at all times, so, yeah that doesn't just happen. Then she gives me an aquarium for being so nice, ( I have no fish ? )
I felt the need to share this.
It's a big giant, WTF.
